A 42-yr-old labour contractor, Gunami Khan, was shot dead by armed assailants in the North 24 Paraganas district of Barrackpore II on January 23, police said on Sunday.
"He was shot in the head and police probe into the matter is underway," said Uttam Das, Chairman, Barrackpore Municipality.
