Four people were killed and several injured when a roadways bus collided head-on with a mini vehicle on the Nakaha Shankarpur Highway, under the jurisdiction of the Kheri police station on Sunday afternoon. The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. near Chahamalpur village in the Nakaha area.

A bus from the Lakhimpur depot was heading towards Bahraich when it collided with a mini vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the collision was such that the mini vehicle's passengers were thrown onto the road. Four people, including the mini vehicle driver, died on the spot.

Several people travelling in the mini-vehicle sustained injuries and were rushed to the district hospital. The identities of the deceased and injured are yet to be ascertained, police said.

"This accident happened between a magic (mini vehicle) and a roadways bus... Four people have died, including a child. At least seven people are injured, including six severely injured. Four people have reached the hospital, and the remaining are on their way," CO Sadar, Ramesh Tiwari said.
