Lakhs of devotees from across the world have gathered in Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, setting a record for the highest number of attendees. Now, three new world records are set to be achieved over the next three days, starting Friday, along the banks of the holy Triveni. The Guinness World Records team has arrived to document these historic feats.

Maha Kumbh To Set Three New World Records

The Maha Kumbh will promote cleanliness and environmental conservation through these record-setting initiatives. Various cleanliness drives will be documented, both along the riverbanks and in the water. The Prayagraj administration aims to surpass its previous records from the 2019 Kumbh Mela.

In 2019, three world records were set:

Running over 500 shuttle buses simultaneously.

A cleanliness drive was conducted by 10,000 sanitation workers.

Collecting 7,500 fingerprints in eight hours.

River Cleaning Record – February 14

On February 14, a new record will be set as 300 personnel enter the River Ganga simultaneously to clean it. The cleaning effort will take place at three ghats—Ram Ghat, Gangeshwar Ghat, and Bhardwaj Ghat. This initiative is expected to cost ₹85.53 lakh.

Massive Cleanliness Drive – February 15

On February 15, 15,000 sanitation workers will undertake a 10-km cleanliness drive along the banks of the Ganga and Yamuna, surpassing the previous record of 10,000 workers. The initiative is estimated to cost Rs 2.13 crore.

Hand Printing Record – February 16

On February 16, a record for hand printing on canvas will be attempted. The goal is to collect 10,000 handprints in eight hours at five key locations, including Ganga pandals. This will surpass the previous record of 7,500 fingerprints. The estimated cost of this initiative is Rs 95.76 lakh.

With these initiatives, the Maha Kumbh 2025 is set to reinforce its legacy of devotion, discipline, and environmental responsibility while creating history with new world records.
