Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the Odisha's famous Jagannath Temple in Puri on Friday, where he offered prayers and expressed his spiritual experience.

Speaking to the media, CM Fadnavis shared his feelings about the visit, saying, "Having a darshan of Lord Jagannath is a beautiful experience. I have been here before, and every time I visit, I feel a renewed sense of energy. The love and affection that Lord Jagannath provides are truly unique. I am delighted to have had this darshan today."

Rs 25.44 Crore Grant Distributed for Indigenous Cattle Conservation

CM Fadnavis allocated Rs 25.44 crore under the Desi Govansh Pariposhan Yojana to 560 Maharashtra cowsheds for January-March, providing Rs 50 per cow per day for indigenous cattle upkeep. This followed the Maharashtra Cow Service Commission's distribution of Rs 25.45 crore to support over 56,000 cows in the scheme's first phase.

Fadnavis lauded the Commission's efforts, emphasizing cattle conservation's role in rural development. Animal Husbandry Minister Pankaja Munde also praised the initiative for protecting indigenous cattle, acknowledging their lower productivity compared to hybrid breeds but stressing the importance of their conservation due to financial challenges faced by farmers raising unproductive cows. Maharashtra introduced the nutrition scheme to address this, supporting registered cowsheds. Shekhar Mundada, Chairman of the Maharashtra Cow Service Commission, stated that the scheme has provided significant relief to hundreds of cowsheds, helping sustain indigenous cattle.
