A Uttar Pradesh resident has been arrested for killing his 27-year old pregnant wife. The accused who has been identifed as Ravindra Kumar confessed to murdering his wife in a fit of rage. Ravindra Kumar after killing his wife chopped the body with a sharp-edged weapon before grinidng the pieces in a flour mill. The murder took place on January 4 but was reported on Tuesday after the victim's elder daughter, who witnessed the crime, reached her maternal grandmother's house and narrated the incident. After a complaint was filed by the woman's family, the police arrested the accused and later recovered the charred remains.

Urmila married Ravindra in 2011 and the couple have two daughters, aged seven and eleven. According to police, Ravindra wanted a boy in the family and was suspecting that Urmila would deliver a baby girl again. Ravindra's elder daughter said that her grandfather and two uncles were also involved in her mother's murder. A team of six was formed to nab all the accused. Kumar who broke down during interrogation revealed that the remains were stuffed in a gunny bag and dumped 4km away from his house.
