A tragic incident occurred at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Lamsang, Imphal West District, Manipur, where a jawan opened fire on his colleagues. The shooting, which took place around 8 pm, resulted in the deaths of two CRPF personnel and injuries to eight others. The jawan then died by suicide using his service weapon.  The incident is suspected to be a case of fratricide, possibly stemming from a personal dispute.  The involved personnel belonged to F-120 Coy CRPF. Senior police and CRPF officers immediately arrived at the scene.   

The injured jawans were promptly transported to a hospital for treatment.  Manipur Police confirmed the incident via X (formerly Twitter), stating, "In an unfortunate incident, tonight at around 8 pm, a suspected case of fratricide happened inside a CRPF camp in Lamsang under Imphal West District wherein one CRPF jawan opened fire, killing 02 (two) of his own CRPF colleagues on the spot and injuring 08 (eight) others. Later, he also died by suicide using a service weapon." An investigation has been launched to determine the precise motive behind the shooting and uncover any contributing factors.  As of now, no official statement has been released by the CRPF.
