Imphal, Oct 26 Security forces in Manipur have recovered six looted sophisticated arms, and arrested four individuals, including two militants and two armed men in the past 24 hours, officials said on Wednesday.

Police said that the combined security forces recovered six sophisticated arms including two self-loading rifles, one INSAS rifle and a large cache of ammunition and huge quantities of explosives in Thoubal district.

Police also arrested two hardcore cadres of militant outfit the United National Liberation Front and two arms along with some ammunition were also recovered from them.

In Churachandpur district, Manipur Police arrested two persons with two arms and some ammunition.

Movement of vehicles on Manipur’s two national highways -- Imphal-Dimapur (NH-2) and Imphal-Jiribam (NH-37) -- has been almost normal. However, security escorts were provided in the vulnerable locations.
