Patna, Oct 24 As the counselling of successful candidates in BPSC teachers' recruitment is currently underway in Bihar, former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Tuesday claimed that a big scam similar to the IRCTC land-for-job scam has taken place here in the state.

Manjhi in a post on X said, "The way IRCTC land-for-job scam took place in the country, similar scam for jobs happened in the state when Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) recruited 1.22 lakh candidates for Class 1 to 5 and from 9 to 12.

"I demand a high-level inquiry into the matter as the state government has given jobs on the basis of money paid by the candidates. The recruitment was done after giving money and taking government jobs. The state government has cheated the youths of Bihar."

TheBihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) had issued a notification for the 1.70 lakh posts of teachers from Class 1 to 5 and 9 to 12 following which 1.22 lakh candidates passed the examinations. At present, the documents verification of candidates is underway and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will give the appointment letters to all successful candidates on November 2.
