The niece of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and chief of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Mayawati, filed an FIR (First Information Report) against her husband and in-laws for alleged harassment over dowry and sexual harassment. The cast has been registered at Hapurnagar Police Station in Hapur district under sections of BNS and Dowry Prohibition Act on the basis of the complaint.

The FIR carries seven names, including her husband Vishal, her father-in-law Sripal Singh, her mother-in-law Pushpa Devi, her brother-in-law Bhupendra, and her sisters-in-law Nisha and Shivani. Alice has accused them of harassment for dowry, sexual harassment and threatening.

Alice's mother-in-law is the Chairperson of the Hapur Municipality and a BSP party leader. She married Vishal Singh in November 2023. In her complaint, she accused her in-laws of demanding Rs 50 lakhs for months, along with a dowry.

BSP's niece alleged that her husband, Vishal Singh, has been taking steroids, which have rendered him impotent. Alice was reportedly pressured to conceive a child through her brother-in-law.
