BJP MP Manoj Tiwari asked the Arvind Kejriwal-led government to also release an advertisement for its failure in the health sector.

"Arvind Kejriwal, it's high time to release one more full page advertisement listing your Failures in Health and Transport. Don't shy, people of Delhi already know the same," Tiwari tweeted.

He also said that while the Delhi government budget has touched the Rs 60,000 crore mark, the operation theatre is struggling for ceiling lights.

The Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital the largest Delhi government run hospital has announced to shut down four out of its 18 operation theatres due to lack of essential and basic equipment.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Subhash Chopra slammed the AAP for the decision of the LNJP to shut down the operation theatres.

Addressing a joint press conference with former Delhi Health Minister Dr A.K. Walia, Chopra nailed the AAP government's boast of establishing Mohalla Clinics. He said, "These clinics only provide first-aid kind of treatment and major cases are referred to big government hospitals, where proper facilities are not being provided."

He said the functioning of the government hospitals is in disarray, like in the case of LNJP, where according to the latest reports four more operation theatres are set to be closed from December 1.

Walia said that medical services in government hospitals were collapsing due to lack of facilities.

He said that on an average 16 to 18 surgeries are conducted daily in a major operation theatre, and the present waiting time for the surgeries in LNJP hospital is 30 days, which will get further stretched if four more operation theatres of the hospital are closed. The patients will then be referred to private hospitals for surgeries.
