New Delhi, Nov 24 A Delhi court on Tuesday adjourned till December 24 the corruption case against controversial meat exporter Moin Akhtar Qureshi, in which former CBI directors Ranjit Sinha and A.P. Singh are also under the scanner.

Special Judge Sanjeev Aggarwal adjourned the matter after the CBI Special Public Prosecutor informed that the Delhi High Court has put a stay on the trial court's earlier orders in which it had summoned the agency's joint director, who is supervising the case.

On November 17, the probe agency had moved the High Court claiming that Sanjeev Agarwal is "interfering in the investigation" and sought stay on the orders, which was subsequently granted by the court. The High Court slated the matter to December 22.

In the last hearing, Special Judge Sanjeev Aggarwal had pulled up the CBI for its slow-paced investigation in the case. "Four years have passed. In four years, no investigation has been done. How many more years will you take? Seven to ten more years?"

The judge added, "CBI director is the accused, and the agency is itself investigating the case? I am surprised. This is a violation of the principle of natural justice."

The matter pertains to the corruption case against meat exporter Moin Akhtar Qureshi and others. Former CBI director's role is under the scanner, along with Qureshi.

The meat exporter was arrested in 2017 for allegedly collecting money from individuals directly or through Hyderabad-based businessman Sathish Sana Babu and using funds to influence CBI probes.
