Around 40 people reportedly fell sick due to suspected food poisoning after attending a wedding feast at  Moradabad in Faridpur village, officials said on Tuesday. Some of the affected People were shifted to Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand for treatment.

Thakurdwara Sub-Divisional Magistrate Preeti Singh stated that the incident occurred on Monday, and authorities were informed about it around 8:30 pm. The incident took place during the wedding of village teacher Rajpal Singh's son, Vipin Kumar.

Following the feast, nearly 40 people reported stomach pain and dizziness, with several experiencing bouts of vomiting and diarrhoea.

Police promptly transported all the affected individuals to community health centres and local private hospitals, where they received treatment and were discharged after medication.
