Bhopal, May 14 Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday held a series of meetings with Union ministers in New Delhi to discuss preparations for Simhastha 2028, the proposed Ujjain airport, law and order, agriculture, irrigation, urban development, and the Uniform Civil Code.

Calling the meetings important for the state’s future roadmap, Yadav said, “These meetings are of immense significance in light of Madhya Pradesh’s development agenda and the preparations for the upcoming Simhastha 2028.”

During his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Yadav briefed him on anti-Naxal operations and development initiatives in Dindori and Balaghat districts.

He said he specifically highlighted the development and peace initiatives being undertaken by security forces and the administration in the Dindori and Balaghat regions.

The two leaders also discussed implementing new criminal laws, strengthening law and order, and adopting technology-driven policing.

Yadav invited Shah to visit Balaghat and said the Union Minister appreciated the state government’s efforts.

In talks with Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, the Chief Minister discussed the proposed Ujjain airport project and the need to expand air connectivity to support growing religious tourism linked to Mahakal Lok and Simhastha.

“Given the rapidly expanding scope of religious tourism in Ujjain and the Mahakal Lok precinct, the expansion of air connectivity is absolutely essential,” Yadav said.

Discussions also covered the proposed Ujjain-Indore Metropolitan Planning Authority, regional infrastructure, tourism growth and new air routes.

He added that the state government was working with great momentum towards establishing Madhya Pradesh as a premier religious and tourism hub in the country.

Yadav also met Union Minister Manohar Lal to review preparations for Simhastha 2028.

He said the state government had already started work on infrastructure development, traffic management, urban expansion and civic amenities for the mega religious event.

“With the aim of giving the upcoming Simhastha Mahakumbh in Ujjain a world-class stature, the state government has already begun working on infrastructure development, urban expansion and traffic management,” he said.

The discussions included Smart City projects, sanitation under the Swachhata Mission and urban planning.

Yadav also highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s achievements under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

In a meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil, Yadav sought an increase in the wheat procurement target, citing record production in the state.

“Madhya Pradesh has witnessed a record harvest this year, with over 7.5 million metric tonnes of wheat already procured,” he said.

The two leaders also discussed the PM Kusum Yojana, solar energy expansion, irrigation projects, affordable power supply to farmers and the Betwa-Parbati-Kalisindh River Interlinking Project.

On the Uniform Civil Code, Yadav said the process had begun in Madhya Pradesh.

“A committee has been constituted for this purpose, and the committee’s preliminary meeting has already taken place,” he said.

He stated that the government would seek suggestions from all sections of society, communities and relevant stakeholders.
