Chief Minister Yadav extended his best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Rang Panchami. Taking to X, he wrote, "Greetings and best wishes to all the people of the state on the occasion of Rang Panchami. I wish that this auspicious festival of love, harmony, and enthusiasm fills your life with new colors of joy and brings happiness and prosperity to everyone."

As part of the celebrations, the Chief Minister is scheduled to participate in the decade-old tradition of Rang Panchami Ger, organized in Indore district. Rang Panchami, observed on the fifth day after Holi, is celebrated with great enthusiasm, as people smear colors and gulal on each other. In Indore, large crowds gather at Rajwada and surrounding areas to shower colors, creating a vibrant spectacle.

A 75-year-old tradition in Indore, Rang Panchami was initially celebrated with people mounted on bullock carts, moving through the city while spreading colors. Over the years, this has evolved, with water tankers and motor pumps now used to spray colors on revelers, enhancing the festive spirit. Additionally, the festival was celebrated at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain early Wednesday morning. During the Bhasma Aarti, saffron-infused water and colors made from Tesu (Palash) flowers were offered to Lord Mahakal.

Temple priest Yash Sharma shared details of the ceremony, stating, "The Rang Panchami festival was celebrated in the court of Baba Mahakal, and saffron-infused water was offered during the Bhasma Aarti. Prayers were offered for devotees, wishing that just as colors were offered to Baba Mahakal, their lives too may be filled with colorful joy, and Baba’s blessings may always be upon them."
