Bhopal, May 6 Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Congress, Left parties and the Trinamool Congress (TMC), alleging their governance had slowed development in West Bengal, while asserting that a Bharatiya Janata Party-led government would bring better governance and faster growth in the eastern state.

Addressing a programme in Burhanpur district in Madhya Pradesh, CM Yadav said, “Congress, the Left parties, and the Trinamool Congress have pushed West Bengal towards backwardness. A government of good governance under the BJP will ensure rapid development in Bengal.”

He accused the Congress party of following divisive politics and said people had now understood its intentions.

Projecting the BJP’s long-term political roadmap, the Chief Minister said, “We are moving forward not only towards victory in 2029, but towards sustained success up to 2047.”

He said the party’s focus remained on inclusive development and long-term growth, adding that the BJP was preparing for the next two decades with a clear vision.

Highlighting the party’s electoral growth in West Bengal, CM Yadav recalled that the BJP has steadily strengthened its presence in the state. In the 2016 Assembly elections, the BJP won three seats, marking its initial entry into the Assembly.

CM Yadav also waded into ideological issues, stating that “Vande Mataram” played an important role during the freedom struggle in inspiring patriotism among the people. He alleged that Congress created divisions over the national song and failed to respect nationalist sentiments.

Shifting focus to the national economy, the Chief Minister said India was rapidly emerging as a global economic power under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said Madhya Pradesh was contributing to this growth by creating opportunities for investment and promoting industrial expansion across the state.

The CM said the state government was focusing on both agriculture and industry, with special emphasis on increasing farmers’ income and generating employment opportunities for youth.

Under the “Kisan Kalyan Varsh” initiative, the state government was working to strengthen the rural economy through better irrigation, market access, and crop diversification, he added.
