The incident occurred late in the evening when a police vehicle collided with a passenger bus coming from the opposite direction.

The injured officer has been identified as Chandia Police Station In-charge Jodhan Singh Paraste, who was on official duty at the time of the accident.

Confirming the incident, City Superintendent of Police Punnu Singh Paraste told IANS that the police team was on duty at the time of the accident.

He added that immediate rescue efforts were carried out with the help of local residents and emergency services, and the injured were shifted to the hospital without delay.

Police have registered a case and launched a detailed probe into the accident, examining all possible angles, including over-speeding, driver negligence, and road conditions at the site.
