The delegation, led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, reiterated its stand of supporting and facilitating the political dialogue between the Indian government and the Naga groups and called for an early political solution to the decades-old imbroglio.

Ravi, who is the Centre's chief interlocutor for peace talks with the National Socialist Council of Nagalim Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) besides other Naga rebel groups, had said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed the need to conclude the Naga peace process within three months.

"The delegation assured the Governor and the state government of all assistance and cooperation towards achieving peace through an honorable and acceptable political solution," a statement issued by the NDPP said.

The delegation wished the Governor a successful tenure and assured him of all possible cooperation.

The NSCN-IM, one of the main Naga militant groups, had also said that the issue of integration of all Naga territories was an integral part of the ongoing political dialogue with the Centre.

It has been in talks with the government since 1997 after the signing of a ceasefire agreement.

Appreciating the Governor's concerns on improving governance and ensuring transparency and assured him of support towards achieving the common endeavours, the delegation also highlighted the aspiration of the NDPP to strive towards meritocracy and improve governance at all levels while promoting opportunities for the youth of Nagaland.

The delegation also discussed issues related to enhancing development and improving connectivity, especially air connectivity.
