The official handle of the National Basketball Association (@NBA) shared the video on Twitter with the caption: "Aaron Gordon dunks over Tacko Fall!"

However, Derrick Jones Jr edged the contest by a point as he scored 48 for a "soaring tomahawk dunk" in the second tiebreaker, while Aaron Gordon was awarded 47 points after he cleared 7ft 5in Boston Celtic player Tacko Fall to dunk with two hands.

As the video went viral, Twitterati flooded the social media with their reactions.

A user wrote, "Gordon should blocked every call from a dunk contest from now on."

Another wrote, "Meh, should choose a better dunk to seal the win. He made a bad decision and paid for it."

"He almost chop his head off and people wanted him to win ?? I dont get it..." asked one user.

A user remarked, "Am I the only one who needs a definition of what counts as dunking "over" someone. He clearly just hit his skull with his crotch...."
