According to the new labor law, employees are likely to get 3 days off a week in the coming period. The Ministry of Labor and Employment will finalize the rules related to the implementation of four new labor laws this week. Once these laws come into force, a new system in labor policies will be introduced in the country.

The draft is being finalized and after which employees will get the option of working 4 days a week and taking leave for the remaining 3 days. In addition, the ministry will set up an internet portal for registration of unorganized workers.

According to officials, the portal will be ready by June. It will provide information on registration of unorganized workers and the facilities available to them.

Labor workers will be registered through this channel. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had mentioned about such a web portal in her budget speech.

Labor laws will be enacted as soon as possible, including wage law, industrial law, security, health law, social security law.
