Nirbhaya rape case: Convict Akshay files review plea

In Delhi's 'Nirbhaya' rape case, the victim's mother has filed an intervention application against the reconsideration petition filed in the Supreme Court of convict Akshay Kumar Singh. In the petition filed on behalf of Nirbhaya's mother Asha Devi, it says that the convicts are escaping punishment by playing legal tricks, it has been seven years already. The Supreme Court has decided to hear the case on December 17 on the reconsideration petition of Akshay Kumar Singh, one of the convicts of Nirbhaya.A bench of three judges will hear the petition filed by Akshay Kumar Singh who is one of the culprits in the Nirbhaya case. The time of hearing has been set by the court at 2 pm. The court has said that the case will be heard in open court. Nirbhaya's mother said that I am satisfied with the proceedings of the court, I have been waiting for 7 years, I will wait for a week and I hope that Akshay's review petition will be dismissed on the 17th. I will get these death warrants issued here on 18th.Akshay was sentenced to death by the trial court. The conviction was upheld by the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court. In a reconsideration petition, the convict has asked the Supreme Court to reconsider the death sentence. The convict has also apologized to the Supreme Court for the delay in filing the review petition.
