Patna, Feb 11 Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, as part of his Pragati Yatra, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 195 development projects worth Rs 556 crore in Aurangabad district.

The projects include 79 completed schemes worth Rs 127.43 crore and 116 new projects worth Rs 428.76 crore.

The Chief Minister inaugurated a Panchayat Government Building in Bedhni Panchayat (Dev Block) and inspected its library, Mukhiya room, and offices.

He also visited Mahadalit Tola, reviewing multiple schemes under the Seven Resolves Scheme, including Pucca Gali Nali, Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal Yojana, the Housing Scheme, and the Chief Minister Solar Street Light Scheme.

At the famous Surya Mandir in Dev, Nitish Kumar offered prayers for Bihar’s peace and prosperity.

He later reviewed the proposed ring road and Medical College Aurangabad at Irrigation Colony Dev, instructing officials to ensure seamless road connectivity to the upcoming hospital.

During his inspection of Surya Kund and Rudra Kund, the Chief Minister emphasised the deepening and beautification of Surya Kund to ensure a steady water supply for pilgrims, particularly during Chhath Puja.

He directed authorities to complete the proposed radial road construction before the next Chhath festival to ease traffic for devotees.

Nitish Kumar also inaugurated a nine-story Model Hospital in Aurangabad Sadar Hospital premises, instructing officials to install a lift immediately for patient convenience.

He further inspected the proposed Adari Riverfront development project, aimed at beautifying the 1500-meter stretch between Kamabigha (NH-19) and APJ Abdul Kalam Park.

This project includes seven open gyms and parks, RCC seating and plantations, and a 2500-meter drainage system to prevent city pollution from affecting the river. The Chief Minister also inaugurated Bhimrao Ambedkar Residential School in Kushi, Aurangabad, and interacted with students, encouraging them to focus on their studies.

During the event, Nitish Kumar distributed Rs 2.94 crore to 147 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Udyam Yojana, Ayushman Cards and Marriage Incentive Grants for disabled individuals.

Highlighting the success of Jeevika self-help groups, he said women’s economic independence has transformed their confidence, communication skills, and financial stability.

"In 2006, self-help groups were limited. We expanded them under 'Jeevika' with World Bank support, later inspiring the Central Government's 'Aajeevika' scheme. Women are now self-reliant, improving their economic and social standing," the Chief Minister added.
