Commuters on the DND Flyway were seen stuck in traffic as there was a lot of congestion causing delays at the loop connecting Noida - Greater Noida Expressway.

The traffic situation worsens during the peak hours on this route as the eight-lane traffic from DND Flyway, has to pass through two-lane on the loop. On this stretch vehicles also enter from the Chilla border creating a huge traffic ruckus.

DCP (Traffic) Yamuna Prasad said that the flyway was designed to accommodate only 70,000 vehicles but around 2.7 lakh vehicles take this route.

The authorities think widening the loop will be a short-term measure and the much-delayed Chilla Elevated Corridor remains the long-term solution the the traffic problem of this route.

Funding concerns have caused the 5.5-kilometer six-lane project that was supposed to link Mayur Vihar and Mahamaya Flyover to halt. Before development can start, the Noida Authority needs the state government's approval to close a Rs 151 crore budget deficit.
