Gandhinagar/Mumbai, April 12 Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday said the death of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle marked “the end of an era in the world of film music”, as tributes poured in following her passing at the age of 92.

In a condolence message posted on X, CM Patel described the demise of the renowned singer ‘Sur Samragni’ Asha Bhosle as “extremely sad”, stating that through her “energetic and versatile singing”, she enriched the world of music and left “an indelible mark on the hearts of generations through countless timeless songs”.

"Her unparalleled contribution will always be remembered. Her passing marks the end of an era in the world of film music, but her voice will forever live on among us," he wrote.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said her legacy went beyond her voice, describing her as “not just a voice… an era”.

"There was emotion in every song and magic in every note. Asha Bhosle did not just sing music, she lived it. Such artists never truly say goodbye, they remain alive forever in their melodies," he described in a post.

Bhosle died in Mumbai on Sunday at the age of 92 after being admitted to Breach Candy Hospital with heart and respiratory complications.
