Offices, public places, transport to be disinfected daily

New Delhi, March 12 Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal, here on Thursday, directed that all offices, public places and transport be cleaned and disinfected every day to contain coronavirus.

"For prevention and control of coronavirus, the Delhi government has ordered disinfection of DTC, cluster buses, Delhi Metro on a regular basis as a precautionary measure. The Lt. Governor has directed that all public offices, public places amd transport be cleaned and disinfected on daily basis," the Raj Niwas said in a statement.

He also called for intensifying awareness and public sensitisation campaigns in national and vernacular media.

Baijal also urged that the people should be informed about symptoms, mode of transmission, and ways to reduce cornavirus infection risk.

Municipal committees, DUSIB, DCs of 11 districts have been asked to set up quarantine facilities. The Health Department has been asked to ensure immediate steps to augment facilitation of sample testing, quarantine and tertiary care at designated hospitals.

He also directed extensive training and capacity building for staff to fight coronavirus.

Baijal urged people to avoid unnecessary travel to crowded places.
