One Naxal was killed and another injured in an encounter that took place between the police and Maoists in Simdega district of the state on Sunday morning.
The police have launched a search operation in the area.
"An encounter between police and Naxals took place in Simdega district today morning. In exchange of fire, one Naxal was killed while another is seriously injured. Police have launched a search operation in the area," Saket Kumar Singh, Inspector General (Operations) Jharkhand said.
