Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMIM Chief on Saturday reacted to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) poll results and said that until the State Election Commission does not officially declare the result of the 150 wards in the municipal elections, the question of the mayor and the deputy mayor does not arise. Our party still has not discussed this matter.
He also reacted over G Kishan Reddy's statement where the minister said,"Hyderabad is mini Telangana. People showed support & gave blessings to BJP with 48 seats. People are against Asaduddin Owaisi. Neither Owaisi nor KCR nor anyone else can stop BJP from forming govt in 2023."
Owaisi said,"GHMC is a part of Telangana but mainland Telangana has a regional aspiration with a different political demography. KCR reflects all of these. TRS is a formidable force in mainland Telangana. KCR should think about the result. He's an able politician"
Regarding the Bengal (West Bengal polls) is concerned, Owaisi said that his party will discuss, take a decision and then make an announcement.
The GHMC results have been declared on 149 of 150 seats with results in the Neredmet division held. Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM won 44 seats and Congress won two seats.
BJP made major gains in GHMC polls as it won 48 seats, seven less than the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which emerged as the single largest party winning 55 seats.
The TRS won fewer seats than it won in the 2016 elections when it had won a majority in the elections to GHMC.
