Patna, Bihar (February 18, 2025): At least four criminals opened fire outside a house in Patna's Kankarbagh area around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. After the firing, all the criminals went into hiding inside a house nearby.

The Patna Police Department said its Special Task Force (STF) and police officers surrounded the building. They are appealing for the criminals to surrender. Patna's senior superintendent of police and other top officers are at the scene. The STF is searching the area.

Reacting to the incident, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized the state government's handling of law and order. He said, “Crime is increasing day by day in the state. There isn’t a single day when more than two hundred rounds of bullets aren’t fired in Bihar. Kidnapping is happening everywhere in Patna, and people are tortured in police custody.”
