New Delhi, April 11 Amid growing speculation that the incumbent lockdown could be extended throughout the country, a staggering 74.9 per cent of people in Eastern India have ration and medicines that would suffice for less than three weeks, according to the C-Voter Covid Tracker's Index of Panic.

Out of this total percentage, 40 per cent have essential items for a week, 18.9 per cent have the required stock for less than a week, while 16 per cent have the supplies for two weeks.

If other regions are taken into account, Southern Indian fared second, where 67.4 per cent people have stock for less than a week.

Among all, North India has the highest number of people who have stocked supplies for more than three weeks.

The findings came out in the survey conducted from April 4 to 6, indicating the level of preparedness among the people.

The findings and projections are based on a daily tracking poll on CATI, conducted during the last seven days among 18+ adults nationwide.

The Tracking Poll Fieldwork covered random probability samples during the last seven days from the release date. The sample spread is across all Assembly segments across all states. The sample size is 1,114.
