BJP has lapped up the revelation that one of the Shaheen Bagh shooters Kapil Gurja is said to be an Aam Aadmi Party member and has gone to town with it, just ahead of the February 8 Delhi Assembly polls.

Delhi BJP released a photo of Gurjar along with AAP leadership, saying, "Kejriwal Ka hath, Goli chalane walon ke sath".

The Delhi unit of the BJP tweeted: "Shaheen Bagh is not a coincidence, but an experiment. Kapil who fired shots in Shaheen Bagh turns out to be an AAP worker."

Little after 9 p.m., Union minister Prakash Javadekar called an emergency press conference where he alleged, "Today, the police have exposed the conspiracy of the Aam Aadmi Party. This kind of violence and this politics of going to any extent is typical of the Aam Aadmi Party. They want to incite riots."

He threw a volley of accusations against Kejriwal with Vijay Goel and Shyam Jaju by his side.

BJP President J.P. Nadda posted a series of tweets where he connected the latest revealation with 'national security'. He alleged, "People of the country and of Delhi today saw the dirty face of 'Aam Aadmi Party'. For political longings, Kejriwal and his people have even sold the security of this country. Earlier, Kejriwal used to insult the army and advocate for terrorists. But today, his relations with those who carry out terrorist acts have came to light."

Earlier, Prakash Javadekar had called Kejriwal a 'terrorist'. Nadda also linked AAP with the PFI, a radical Islamic organisation whose name has come up many times in connection with the anti-CAA protests.

After the AAP hurriedly called a press meet to distance itself, Javadekar countered, "Sanjay Singh says that pictures of the Shaheen Bagh shooter with AAP leaders don't mean much but the pictures were taken during his induction in AAP. Further, these pictures were erased from his phone. In view of these glaring facts, AAP cannot skip responsibility."

Meanwhile 'AAP burns Delhi' started to trend on Twitter and the BJP along with many of its leaders started to use the hashtag.

Ironically, Kejriwal had earlier claimed that AAP hands over books while the BJP hands over guns. With the table turning over, the ruling party of Delhi finds itself on a sticky wicket.
