Gandhinagar, March 6 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat starting March 7. During his visit, he will participate in various events in Surat and Navsari.
In anticipation of his arrival, authorities have implemented tight security arrangements.
One of the key highlights of his visit includes addressing a massive public gathering in Surat, which is expected to accommodate around 1 lakh people. A grand dome and other infrastructure have been set up at a cost of Rs 4 crore for the event.
On March 8, marking International Women's Day, PM Modi will travel to Navsari district for special programs. In preparation for PM Modi's visit, a security rehearsal was conducted in Surat from the airport to the circuit house, with senior police officials ensuring flawless security measures. Authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a smooth visit.
The public gathering in Surat will be a grand affair, with separate entry points designated for VIPs, VVIPs, and the general public. The administration has meticulously planned seating arrangements, lighting, sound, stage setup, food provisions, water supply, and display hoardings.
Following his Surat visit, PM Modi will head to Navsari on March 8 to commemorate International Women’s Day. He will participate in the ‘Lakhpati Didi Sammelan’ at Vansi-Borsi, where financial aid worth over Rs 450 crore will be provided to more than 25,000 women from self-help groups across the state.
His visit underscores the government’s commitment to women's empowerment and rural development.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat on March 7. During his visit, the LoP will attend the Political Affairs Committee meeting and hold discussions with MLAs, former MLAs, Congress party presidents, former presidents, and opposition leaders.
He will also engage with district and taluka-level leaders and interact with party workers.
