Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated NAMO Hospital (Phase I) in Silvassa on Friday, March 7. He also visited Namo Hospital in Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The PM also laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over Rs 2,580 crore in the UT. The 450-bedded hospital, built at a cost of over Rs 460 crore, significantly strengthens healthcare services in the Union Territory. Later The Prime Minister Modi will also hand over appointment letters under the Rozgar Mela. He is also distributing benefits to beneficiaries under the PM Awas Yojana – Urban, Gir Adarsh Aajeevika Yojana, and the Sylvan Didi scheme.

Gir Adarsh Aajeevika Yojana aims to boost the economic empowerment of women belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), Other Backward Classes (OBCs), minorities, and divyangjan in the region by supporting small dairy farms and driving social and economic transformation in their lives.  The Sylvan Didi scheme is uplifting women street vendors by providing them with aesthetically designed carts, co-funded through the PM SVANIDHI scheme.

In line with this, on 8th March, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Prime Minister will participate in the Lakhpati Didi programme in Vansi Borsi village in Navsari district and interact with the Lakhpati Didis. He will also felicitate 5 Lakhpati Didis with Lakhpati Didi Certificates.

The Prime Minister will launch the Gujarat scheme for Antyodaya Families for Augmenting Livelihoods (G-SAFAL) and G-MAITRI (Gujarat Mentorship and Acceleration of Individuals for Transforming Rural Income) programme of the Government of Gujarat.

The G-MAITRI scheme will provide financial assistance and handholding support to Startups which are working for creating a conducive environment for rural livelihoods. G-SAFAL will provide financial assistance and entrepreneurial training to SHG women of Antyodaya families in two Aspirational districts and thirteen Aspirational Blocks of Gujarat.
