Power Cut In Chennai on February 22: Five Hours Electricity Shutdown in Several Localities; Check Timing and Affected Areas

Multiple areas in Chennai will be under power shutdown on Sunday, February 22, 2026 as a part of  routine maintenance work. Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) will be of five hours  from 9:00 am to 200pm. Residents were advised to prepare accordingly to minimize inconvenience.

Chennai Power Cut: Timings

Sunday (February 22) - 9 AM to 2 PM (5 hours)

Chennai Power Cut: Affected Areas List

  • Residents in the following zones will experience a temporary suspension of power:
  • Ambattur Industrial Estate: 1st Main Road, 3rd Street, Post Office Road South Phase Sector 1, MTH Road, 3rd Main Road.
  • Ambattur Sidco: 5th Street, Yadhava Street, EB Road, Grammam Street, 4th Street, 5th Street, 6th Street of Sector 3 North phase.

Residents should prepare for the scheduled outage by charging devices, storing water if using electric pumps, planning activities around the outage, and having emergency lights ready. This localized maintenance is not an emergency, and power may be restored early if work finishes ahead of schedule.
