Dibrugarh (Assam) [India], April 1 : Assam Congress leader Pranati Phukan on Wednesday hailed Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's campaign in poll-bound state and said her words have resonated with women across the state.

"Priyanka Gandhi has echoed the sentiments of every woman in Assam. "We hope that we will win every seat in Upper Assam,"she said.

Congress candidate Bipul Gogoi also hailed Priyanka Gandhi's visit.

"We are very happy, all Congress workers are extremely excited that Priyanka Gandhi has come among us here today. We will go among the people, and we will go with renewed enthusiasm. In the coming 6 days, we will work with complete determination and dedication so that we can make Gaurav Gogoi the Chief Minister," he said.

Priyanka Gandhi, who addressed rallies in Nazira, Tingkhong and Khowang during the Assam assembly election campaign, alleged that there was corruption in the BJP-led government in the state.

She alleged that "one family is looting the state" while its resources are being handed over to big industrialists.

She alleged that mines, land and other assets of the state were being handed over to large corporate houses. The Congress leader said that the state was being run by "mafia and syndicates," which controlled coal, timber and stone resources.

Priyanka Gandhi also said that "welfare schemes were also undermined by corruption".
