PT Usha’s Husband V Srinivasan Passes Away in Kerala, PM Narendra Modi Offers Condolences

Rajya Sabha MP and Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha’s husband, V. Srinivasan (64), passed away on Friday, January 30. He collapsed at his residence in Thikkodi Perumalpuram in Kerala at around 1 am. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital but could not be saved. Usha was not at home at the time of the incident.

Srinivasan was the son of Narayanan and Sarojani of the Vengali Tharavattu family in Kuttikkad, Ponnani. He was a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police with the Central Industrial Security Force. He married PT Usha, a distant relative, in 1991. They have a son, Ujjwal Vignesh.

Usha was on the way to home after attending the Parliament session at the time of the incident. The funeral schedule has not yet been finalised. A former central government employee, Srinivasan was a constant presence by Usha’s side throughout her illustrious sporting and political career.  He was widely regarded as her pillar of support and the driving force behind her many professional milestones.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to PT Usha and expressed his condolences on the passing away of her husband.
