A major security alert was sounded on Thursday, April 2, after the Punjab and Haryana High Court received a bomb threat. The email was received to SSP's office in the morning. This comes two days after a 'crude bomb' was hurled at the BJP's Punjab office in Chandigarh.

The email, which was sent via Hotmail, was received at around 6 am on Thursday, warning of a possible explosion on the premises of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The threatening email referenced Dravidian politics and appeared, prima facie, to have been translated into Hindi using an AI-based application, sources told The Indian Express.

Police teams, bomb disposal squad at the spot and scanning the court premises. More details are awaited. The court and the adjoining areas were immediately evacuated, and a search operation was conducted.

It is still unclear whether the threat is genuine or a hoax. The cyber investigation team is also investigating the email's origin and IP address.
