An email was received by the Punjab Secretariat Director of NIC, threatening to blow up the Punjab Secretariat building in Chandigarh on Thursday morning, January 29. According to reports, the Khalistan National Army has issued a bomb threat to the Punjab Secretariat.  Following the threat, Chandigarh Police tightened security at the Secretariat and evacuated people from the premises. 

Police teams, along with bomb disposal squads and other rescue units, reached the spot and began an investigation while maintaining heightened vigilance. According to reports, all necessary security measures are being taken, and efforts are underway to identify the sender of the threatening email.

Earlier on Tuesday, several private and government schools in Chandigarh also received bomb threat messages. The threats, sent via email, created chaos among school authorities, parents, and the police. 

All affected schools were evacuated as a precaution, and several institutions immediately declared holidays.
