Five members of a family died after the roof of their house collapsed while they were asleep early Saturday. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. in Pandori Gola village. The house was in a dilapidated condition, and heavy waste material kept on the roof may have caused it to collapse.

Neighbors rushed to help and took the victims to a hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. The deceased were identified as Gobinda, 40, his wife Amarjit Kaur, 36, their sons Gurbaj Singh, 14, and Gurlaal, 17, and daughter Ekam, 15.

Police said the bodies have been sent for postmortem examination.
