Power supply in many villages of Punjab will remain disrupted on March 1 and 2. This disruption will be in Nawanshahr, Abohar and Gurdaspur on March 1 and 2 for the scheduled maintenance work. Following villages will be affected by the power supply disruption.
Power cut in Abohar on March 1
Power supply will remain closed in Abohar, on March 1 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM due to cable laying work. Eng. Rajiv Grover, AEE, Sub-Division No. 1, informed that the shutdown is necessary for laying the cable of the new 11 KV Dhani Masit Road feeder. During this period, the 220 KV feeder running from the grid, 11 KV PUDA Colony feeder and 11 KV Nanak Nagri feeder will remain under permit. Gobind Nagri area, parts of Old Fazilka Road, Friends Colony, Bharat Colony, D.R. Colony, parts of Dana Mandi, New Fazilka Road (from Nanaksar Gurdwara to Fazilka Chungi) and PUDA Colony will remain suspended.
Power Cut in Gurdaspur
Power supply in several areas under the Gurdaspur Urban Sub-Division will remain affected on Sunday, March 1, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Electricity officials stated that repair work is scheduled at the 66 KV Sub-Station Nagar Sudhar Trust Scheme No.-7. Due to this, the feeder running from S.D. College and the Gol Mandir feeder will remain shut.
During the maintenance period, electricity supply to Ram Sharanam Colony, Kanoon Phatak to Dr. Lakhanpal Hospital, Mehr Chand Road, Islamabad Mohalla, Police Line Road, Bhai Lalo Ji Chowk, Hanuman Chowk and Gol Mandir area will remain disrupted.
The 66 KV Sub-Station Garhshankar CKT No. 1 will be closed for maintenance, as stated in a press release from the Assistant Executive Engineer, Rural Sub-Division, Nawanshahr. This closure will also shut down supply to the 66 KV Bheen Sub-Station. As a result, the power supply from the following 11 KV feeders will be suspended: Ghataro, Kot Patti, Mubarakpur, Mahalon, Musapur, Jabbowal, Bheen, and Gajpur.
Because of this shutdown, residents and motor connections in the following villages will experience power outages from 10 AM to 4 PM: Amargarh, Bhangal Kalan, Kariyam, Jabwal, Alachaur, Glowal, Mehndipur, Bhin, Gujarpur, Palli Unchi, Mubarakpur, Musapur, Mahalon, Palli Jhikki, Barnala Kalan, Lodhipur, Ghataron, Kariha, Mallpur Aadkan, and Alipur.
Power cut on March 2
According to a press release issued by the Assistant Executive Engineer, Rural Sub-Division, Nawanshahr, due to the closure of 66 KV Sub-Station Garhshankar CKT No. 1 for maintenance, due to the closure of supply to 66 KV Bheen Sub-Station, power supply to 11 KV Ghataro Feeder, 11 KV Kot Patti Feeder, 11 KV Mubarakpur Feeder, 11 KV Mahalon Feeder, 11 KV Musapur Feeder, 11 KV Jabbowal Feeder, 11 KV Bheen Feeder, 11 KV Gajpur Feeder and as per the prescribed maintenance schedule, power supply will remain closed on March 2, 2026.
