In an tragic accident speeding fortuner car, collides with an auto-rickshaw parked on the roadside, and then crashing into the rear of a stationary 16-wheeler truck after losing control. In this incident three people in the car died on the spot, while six others sustained serious injuries. Deceased have been identified as Amrik Singh (68), Balbir Singh (70), and Harjit Singh (35), all residents of Faridkot, Punjab.
A traffic accident on Airport Road caused a significant delay before police cleared the scene. Eyewitnesses reported the collision, which occurred around 3:30 PM near Yummy Jungle Restaurant, sounded like an explosion. A white Fortuner with a Mohali registration, carrying eight people from Mohali to Faridkot via the Ambala-Chandigarh Highway and McDonald's Chowk, was severely damaged; the occupants sustained injuries after more than half the car became trapped under a truck.
According to Jagaran reports, after passing the Ramgarh-Bhuddha and Shatabgarh traffic lights, the driver accelerated on the open road, then lost control of the vehicle, causing the accident. Upon notification, a State Special Force (SSF) team arrived and initiated a rescue operation. Using specialized equipment, they extricated the injured from the car. Ambulances transported the injured to a hospital, where three were pronounced dead.

SSF officer Sunil Kumar reported that the Fortuner was severely trapped under the truck. Initial investigations indicate that speeding and loss of control were the cause of the accident. Police have registered a case and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
