Five people were killed and three others injured when a car with eight passengers crashed into a stationary truck in Dausa on Tuesday. The accident occurred when the car driver lost control and rammed into the truck parked on the roadside.

The victims were identified as Mukut Bihari and his wife Guddi Devi, Rakesh Kumar and his wife Nidhi Devi, and the driver Nafees Khan. All the victims were from Deoli in Tonk district.

The police quickly rushed the injured passengers to the hospital, but five of them were declared dead on arrival. The car was returning from Prayagraj after the passengers attended the Mahakumbh in Uttar Pradesh.

Truck driver Dharamveer Singh and mechanic Ram Charan Jangid, both from Deeg district, sustained injuries in the accident. Dipesh Parwani, a passenger in the car, was also injured. The bodies of the deceased will be handed over to their families after post-mortem.
