Jaipur, May 19 Public sector oil marketing companies, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited are ensuring an uninterrupted supply of petrol and diesel across Rajasthan, officials said on Tuesday.

According to the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, sufficient petroleum product reserves are available in the state, and the supply chain has been continuously strengthened to meet consumer demand.

Adequate stocks of petrol and diesel are available at fuel stations across various districts, and the public has been urged not to panic.

Secretary of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Ambrish Kumar, said the retail price of diesel at government-owned oil company outlets is around Rs 94 per litre, while diesel at Nayara-operated outlets is approximately Rs 97 per litre.

Due to this price difference, consumers are increasingly preferring public sector fuel stations.

He further stated that institutional diesel is currently priced at nearly Rs 160 per litre, prompting industries and wholesale consumers to also shift towards retail fuel pumps, resulting in additional pressure at some locations.

However, oil companies are prioritising the needs of retail consumers and ensuring regular supplies.

Representatives of the oil companies informed that fuel demand and sales in Rajasthan have increased significantly compared to last year.

According to the data shared, Indian Oil Corporation Limited recorded a 28 per cent rise in petrol sales and a 43 per cent increase in diesel sales in Rajasthan, compared with growth rates of 20.2 per cent and 20.8 per cent, respectively, in other states.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited reported a 13.7 per cent increase in petrol sales and a 16.8 per cent rise in diesel sales.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited registered a 24 per cent increase in petrol sales and over 30 per cent growth in diesel sales.

Despite the rise in demand, company representatives maintained that adequate fuel stocks are available and the supply mechanism remains fully operational and smooth.

The Secretary appealed to consumers to continue their normal purchasing patterns and avoid unnecessary hoarding or panic buying based on rumours or apprehensions.

He assured that petrol and diesel supplies across Rajasthan remain sufficient and fuel availability for the general public will continue without disruption.
