Police have arrested two persons involved in two-wheeler theft cases in Tonk, Rajasthan. The investigation has revealed that the two were stealing bikes to get money for drugs.

The two thieves were stealing motorcycles and scooters for only Rs 200-300. The two used to take out petrol from the stolen bike and sell it and get intoxicated with the money earned from it. Both of them used to steal petrol and spare parts from stolen bikes.

After that, the thieves use to throw the stolen bikes in a pond, police said. Police have recovered 9 motorcycles and 1 scooter from the lake. A total of 15 two-wheelers have been stolen by reported to the police. Therefore, the police are searching for the remaining bikes. Police also found spare parts from the bikes in a bag.

Superintendent of Police Om Prakash took the matter seriously as there are frequent incidents of bike theft in the city. He handed over the responsibility of nabbing the thieves to the District Special Squad (DCT). The DCT arrested Faisal and Yusuf, both residents of the city. Both have confessed to stealing 15 bikes in Tonk for Rs 200 to Rs 300. 'As they are addicted to drugs, they stole two-wheelers. They removed petrol and some spare parts from it and then threw the two-wheeler into a lake in the middle of the city, 'the duo told police.
