Jaipur, May 6 Renowned South Indian film producer and businessman R.B. Chaudhary died in a road accident near Jhunta village on National Highway-162 in Rajasthan's Pali. He was 76-years-old.

Chaudhary, originally from Risaniya near Sojat Road and currently based in Chennai, was returning from a family wedding in Lilamba village when the accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the police, the vehicle lost control after cattle suddenly came onto the road and crashed into a roadside safety wall.

The impact of the collision was severe, resulting in Chaudhary's death on the spot.

The car driver, Gautam Seervi, sustained serious injuries and was initially given first aid before being referred to Jodhpur for further treatment.

Officials from Raipur police station reached the spot soon after the incident.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Manohar Lal Khoja supervised rescue efforts and ensured the injured were shifted to hospital.

The body was sent for post-mortem and later handed over to the family.

Police said the mortal remains have been transported to Chennai, where the last rites will be performed.

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has mourned the accident and has prayed for the departed soul.

"The news of the demise of R.B. Choudhary, a South Indian film producer, in a road accident in Beawar is quite sad. I pray to God to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss. I also wish for the speedy recovery of the injured driver," Gehlot said on his X account.

The incident has led to mourning both in the local region and among associates in the film and business community.
