Kotputli (Rajasthan) [India], April 2 : A three-year-old child died in a tragic accident after being run over by a school bus on the premises of a school in Kaimpurabas village of the Kotputli area on Thursday, triggering widespread grief in the village, police said.

According to the police, the deceased child has been identified as Laukit (3), son of Bablu Kumar, a student of Shri Pratap Vidya Mandir.

The incident occurred in the afternoon during school dispersal when children were being dropped off from the bus. The child reportedly came under the bus tyre, leading to his death on the spot.

The incident left the family devastated, with relatives inconsolable. Family members said the child used to commute regularly by the school bus.

A pall of gloom descended over the village after the incident, with a large number of villagers reaching the bereaved family's house to offer condolences.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the body to the mortuary of the Government BDM District Hospital in a 112 police vehicle.
