A massive fire broke out at Hindustan Zinc's plant in Sindesar Kalan, Rajsamand district, Rajasthan, on the morning of Tuesday, March 4. The fire was so intense that thick black smoke was visible from two kilometers away. It erupted in the shaft of the RD mines and was promptly reported to the fire brigade.

Upon receiving the information, the police also rushed to the scene. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. The blaze started in a section of the elevator during the morning shift change, reportedly due to a short circuit. This lift is used by workers and staff to enter and exit the mines, leading to panic among the workers at the time of the incident, as the area is usually crowded during shift changes.

However, due to timely intervention, no one was killed. Fire brigade personnel and rescue teams extinguished the fire before it could cause further damage.
