Before the Supreme Court's verdict in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case, the Mumbai Police has made elaborate security arrangements, especially in sensitive areas of the city. A police official said that the prohibitory order is already in place and any kind of celebration or mourning will not be allowed in the city.Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi is likely to pronounce judgment in the case before retiring on 17 November.Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Barve organized a meeting with some prominent members of the Muslim community, including journalists and religious leaders, and appealed to them to respect the verdict of the apex court.The official said, "Extensive security arrangements have been made in sensitive areas with much precaution. No matter what the verdict of the apex court is, everyone should respect it not as a member of any community but as a citizen of the country. ”He said that as part of security measures, police has imposed prohibitory orders from November 4 to 18 which restricts illegal gathering of people.The official said that the social media monitoring cell and cyber cell of the city police will monitor the activities on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram and other such forums. "Strict action will be taken against those making objectionable remarks that hurt the sentiments of a community," he said.The official said that citizens have been appealed not to believe in the rumors and have been asked to inform the police if any such thing comes to light. He said, "People should report any suspicious person or activity and cooperate with the police in keeping the city safe and peaceful."
