After the crescent moon was sighted on March 1 night, the Muslim community welcomed the holy month of Ramadan with cheers and excitement. The first Roza will be observed by the devotees on March 2. As the holy month began, the devotees in Rajouri distributed sweets to celebrate this occasion.

In honour of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting observed by Muslims around the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his warmest regards to all on March 2. Taking to X, PM Modi posted, "As the blessed month of Ramzan begins, may it bring peace and harmony in our society. This sacred month epitomises reflection, gratitude, and devotion, also reminding us of the values of compassion, kindness, and service. Ramzan Mubarak!"

On March 2, at 6:23 PM, Muslims around India will break their fast. Muslims in India started their day with Sehri, a pre-dawn meal that ended at 5:26 AM in Delhi and at various times throughout the country on March 2.
