Bhopal, March 18 The rebel Congress MLAs holed up at a five star resort in Bengaluru have demanded security from the Karnataka Director General of Police. They have also refused to meet Congress leader Digvijaya Singh who had gone on Wednesday morning to meet them.

In a letter to the Karnataka DGP, the MLAs said, "Some Congress leaders from Madhya Pradesh have come to Bengaluru. They are putting pressure on us and are trying to create an atmosphere by which they can misrepresent the fact in the Supreme Court where hearing is going on."

In the letter, they said that they have given an affidavit to the Supreme Court in which they have put forward facts and their views. They said they don't want to meet any Congress leader.

"Kindly provide security to us so that our life can be secured," said the letter to the Karnataka DGP, a copy of which has also been sent to the Superintendent of Police, Bengaluru (Rural).

Earlier, rebels Congress MLAs from Madhya Pradesh, who are camping in Bengaluru, issued a video message, refusing to meet Digvijaya Singh and other Congress leaders who have gone to meet them and reiterated that they were there out of their own choice.

In a petition filed in the Supreme Court, the rebel Congress MLAs sought to issue direction to the Speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly to accept their resignations forthwith, as they tendered resignations voluntarily without any threat or pressure from any side.
