As part of the Republic Day programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will first visit the National War Memorial to pay homage to fallen soldiers before joining other dignitaries at the saluting dais. In keeping with tradition, the national flag will be unfurled, followed by the singing of the national anthem. A thunderous 21-gun salute will mark the occasion, fired using indigenously developed 105 mm light field guns. The salute will be presented by the 1721 Ceremonial Battery of the 172 Field Regiment, underscoring India’s military discipline, self-reliance and respect for its armed forces.
