Patna, April 9 In a significant political development in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar departed for New Delhi on Thursday, as he is scheduled to take oath as a Rajya Sabha member on Friday. Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya took a swipe at him.

Rohini Acharya shared a satirical poster on her official X handle. She wrote, “Like a coward, uncle headed off to Delhi today (Ban Ke Bhigi Billi, Chacha Chale Gaye Dilli)… Opportunism and betrayal never go unpunished. In a day or two, your seat will be snatched away.”

The poster depicted Nitish Kumar leaving Bihar with a bag, tears in his eyes, alongside symbolic imagery such as a “Vidai Rath” (farewell chariot) and a milestone pointing towards Delhi—suggesting an end to his political innings in the state.

Earlier in the day, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accompanied by key party leaders and ministers, including JDU National Working President Sanjay Jha and Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, left for Delhi.

From the BJP camp, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Bihar Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav also left for Delhi.

Nitish Kumar is scheduled to take the oath as a Rajya Sabha member on April 10 in Delhi.

Nitish Kumar was elected as a Rajya Sabha member on March 16, and he resigned from the post of MLC on March 30.

Sources indicate that he may hold meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit.

He is expected to return to Patna by April 11 or 12, after which he is likely to resign as Chief Minister.

Following his resignation, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to announce a new Chief Minister, with a formal swearing-in likely soon after.

The developments mark a crucial turning point in Bihar politics, with sharp political reactions, high-level meetings, and leadership transition all unfolding simultaneously.
